Treatment of Skin Disorders
Skin disorders such as Dermatitis, Eczema and Rosacea can be unsightly and embarrassing to sufferers, who often shy way from society due to their symptoms.
Unfortunately treatment is very limited. Corticosteroid creams and ointments are typical treatments, which may be successful in initially eliminating the symptoms in mild cases, but what do you do when the symptoms return or if you suffer from a chronic case?
Chinese Medicine looks at the nature of the skin condition, for example whether it is flaky or weeping, then looks for other factors, such as emotional or environmental factors, pulse and tongue diagnosis, organ channels according to signs and symptoms such as coughing or wheezing, etc.
From all of this, a determination can be made on whether the condition is a blockage, deficiency or excess type illness.
For example a presentation of dry and flaky Eczema can have several different causes with a Chinese Medicine context - it could be diagnosed as blood deficiency; blood stagnation; lung dryness; internal heat; external heat and the list goes on.
